Climate

Trnava city is situated at the Danubian lowland - one of the warmest regions in Slovakia. Climate here can be described between temperate and continental influenced by oceans currents - year average temperture 9-10C- with hot summers -maximum temperatures exceed 35C(max38) and cold, cloudy and wet winters- minimum temperatures not often below -10C (min.-20) It can be also characterized by relatively dry climate with yearly precipitation from 400-700mm (400-450mm in dry years - 650-700 in wet years, long time average for Trnava is 560mm, snow coverage more than 5cm only 20days), average air humidity 75%, 30-35 foggy days/year, average cloudiness 49% and average sunshine is 800hours/year. Trnava region is very windy area (only 8-10% of measured values are non-windy, mostly in winter) with mainly norh-west winds.(strongest are nord-west and sounth-east with average 4m/s).

(Its private meteostation in Rakovice located 25km northerly from Trnava, its a bit colder region but not with a big differences)

(Meteostation is situated at the window so the results of observations are not realy relevant like outside the town (big differences in figures for example with Meteostation Rakovice but its good for observation of temperetures when more sensitive frost hardy suculents are planted in pots outside on the window parapet or balcony)
